Chen Cheng-Po’s works of landscape showed strong focus in the culture and people, which came from his expectation of implementing arts for social good. Chen always put emphases on people and local culture, and together with his ideology had proven his care for the people.  Looking at his paintings, one has no choice but being drawn to the focus and center of gravity that are formed by people, environment, and landscapes. 

In this painting of “Sunset of Tamsui”, through Chen’s vision and brushes, we can see his endless love for his hometown, homeland, and the people, as well as sincerity, passion, and the proud emotion of moving back to his homeland again.
